Absolution
Most of the time we think that it is our environment and our circumstances that do not allow for our true freedom. In reality however, we tend to set unnecessary boundaries for ourselves. Can we keep pushing the envelope until we finally leave our chains behind? In the end, are we willing to let our soul be truly free without our pseudo burdens weighing down on us? These two rings have been inspired by this struggle, this paradox. We might not even be aware of the fact that we are keeping our liberation caged. Once we realize this, however, there is only one task left: granting ourselves absolution.
Overflow
A jewel is in a constant relationship with the body and the life of an individual. By touching the skin, it warms up, and it is present at every step the wearer takes. It also bears the marks of everyday moments – just like the person wearing it. For this interaction, however, the jewel needs to be created first. The ring “Overflow” was born from failure - induced by the reaction of matter and frustration after an originally unsuccessful plan, using multiple types of wax. The subconscious let the jewel come to life, despite my uncertainty. “How many creations have never seen the light because of hesitation or lacking confidence?” – I wondered. This time, I didn’t let that happen…
